March 2020: I am now seeing clients via secure teletherapy.
You may have heard about the Japanese practice of kintsugi, repairing broken objects with gold. It is related to the philosophy of wabi-sabi, which calls us to see what is flawed as beautiful.
I think it is also true with people. When we work on our flaws, our wounds, with love and compassion, we become stronger and more beautiful.
You are welcome here.
Maybe you are in the middle of a crisis; sad or anxious and not know why; unable to recover from a bad childhood, bad relationship or trauma; feeling alone and alienated; caught in behavior and relationship patterns that do not serve you; or you have questions about your identity, life choices or relationships.
I have been helping people with psychotherapy for more than 25 years and I can help you. My goal is to help you have a better life, whether that is managing a crisis, resolving relationship and identity issues, recovering from trauma and abuse, or dealing with a mood or anxiety disorder.
Our lives are shaped by a combination of familial, biological, and societal influences. These are powerful and can make you feel alone, stigmatized, ashamed, frightened, and disconnected from others and your environment, Though our work together I can help you not only deal with problems, but to thrive and grow and engage passionately with your life.
I will help you appreciate and love your unique self.
